Meet the Coach - Rob Jones
Hello there! My name is Rob and I’m a nutrition coach that focuses on a low carb/ carnivore way of eating. I found this path after several attempts to stop multiple issues and lose weight. I’ve done everything. I’ve counted calories, tried a Mediterranean diet, eaten Paleo and Keto. Nothing worked for me until I went to Carnivore. My story really starts in 2023. I had been getting gout attacks since, at least, a decade prior. I also had multiple GI issues and hemorrhoids. I was also getting weird back pains. Most of the time the gout attacks would flare up for a day or two and go away. Well, this particular gout attack lasted at least two months. It was after a month that I decided I needed to lose weight, I knew it wouldn’t solve the problem but it would help and I was pretty badly overweight. I was floating around 260-280 on a 5’8” frame. I had also just learned about Carnivore. I thought red meat caused gout but I knew I would weather the gout attacks much better with less weight on my joints so I decided to do it temporarily to lose weight. I started the Carnivore diet on April 4th, 2023. Along with this I also quit drinking. A few weeks later my gout was gone. I have also noticed the few times I take a little alcohol my gout actually comes back. So I no longer drink alcohol at all. I have also lost, at least, 80 pounds in the last 2 and a half years (as of this writing).
Curiously other things began to alleviate as well. My IBS cleared up and only comes back if I drink something carbonated. I used to be able to belch on command. Now, it hardly ever happens. My hemorrhoids also disappeared, so did my back pains. I have three times the energy, sleep better and wake up faster than I have ever in my life. My mind is also clearer and my memory is much stronger. So I tried to do what I always do in these cases. I tried to disprove the Carnivore diet approach. The more I tried to disprove it, the more I became convinced that the low carb to carnivore spectrum is most likely the way for most people. I now have a Nutritional Coach’s license approved by the NASM (National Association of Sports Medicine) from a low carb focused coaching program and offer my knowledge and experience to anyone looking for an intervention into GI issues, gout, or extreme obesity.
